Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini  untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode pembelajaran Modeling the Way terhadap aktivitas dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VII SMPN 5 Gerung pada materi pokok segitiga tahun pelajaran 2012/ 2013. Jenis penelitian ini eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VII SMPN 5 Gerung dan sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VIIA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIIB sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil dengan simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi untuk aktivitas dan evaluasi untuk prestasi. Analisis data prestasi belajar siswa dilakukan melalui statistik t-tes sedangkan data aktivitas belajar dilakukan melalui analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) penerapan metode pembelajaran Modeling the Way pada pokok bahasan segitiga berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai thitung >ttabel ; (2) penerapan metode pembelajaran modeling the way pada pokok bahasan segitiga berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai thitung>ttabel .
